Eco Felt Handmade Sugar Skull Ornaments
Recently I decided to try some felt crafts & embroidery for a while to see if I like it. I do! The experimentation began with a trip to the public library for a book about embroidery stitches. As I went through the steps I remembered that my Mom had taught me the same techniques when I was a kid. What a happy memory flashback! I can recall stitching for hours in my little craft nook, nestled between towering bookcases & a massive recliner from the 50's, sitting on a large artsy woven pillow my parents had made together. I cannot say that my stitches have improved much since then, but I continue to practice, & it still feels just as magical. I really like the folk-art feel of these first tries. And I'm loving how the felt is made of recycled plastic water bottles. The embellishments are a mix of newly purchased, recycled, & vintage. Each one is unique & has a personality of its own. The skull ornaments are available in my Etsy shop.
